I have fallen HARD…
for Swedish film.
for Swedish film.
Just watched this Swedish film called Patrik, Age 1.5 on Netflix about a gay couple who adopt what they think is a baby boy but who turns out to be a troubled, homophobic 15 year old.
The premise attracted me right away for sounding like such an odd and dramatic situation. It wasn’t too over the top, though. It was super enjoyable, actually, without ever becoming too cloying (when it easily could have been). And the cinematography and setting is really nice. Basically, if half of the neighbors weren’t such dicks, I’d already be packing my bags to move into a Swedish town and eat cake and pastries every day in my beautiful, sunny backyard.
Also, it has Alexander Skarsgard’s brother in it playing the sweetest man in the world.
Patrik 1,5 (2008)
I just watched Patrik, Age 1.5 and I don’t think watching it alone at midnight was the best thing. Then again no one else had to see me getting stupidly emotional at every single change in story, so maybe I should be glad!
